I installed Windows 7 when the beta was first posted. I am a Microsoft fanboy basically.

I really do not like the new half-ass OS X ripoff look. I do not understand, why would Microsoft want to give me fewer reasons not to switch to OS X?

I mean, I know you guys are the big dork uncool OS on the block... but some of us use Windows because we like it BETTER than OS X!

I will avoid the soapbox rant and just say that this inspired me to update Bluebox.

Currently I am running it on Windows 7 beta and am pretty happy with its performance.
I spent some time bringing the code base up to date. Development slowed to a halt prior to the release of Vista, so a lot of the new shell bits had not been put into place.

I added support for the latest icon notification handling for Vista+ in the replacement system tray.
I got the shell service objects loading. (thanks Litestep)
I built in some minimal DDE server implementation because MS keeps moving the call we use to start theirs. (thanks ironhead @ emerge desktop)

I spent some time fixing the blackbox style rendering code. All the blackbox wanna be shells on Windows seem to handle fall back style item rendering differently. I decided to make the Blux code work the way I observed fluxbox rendering. Looks better to me.

I want to package this thing up with a nice NSIS installer.
The learning curve on alternative shells usually scares newbies off before they get started.

I am not sure how far I will end up taking this project, but for now my goal is to have a working shell environment that I enjoy using on Windows.

it is fun to play around with CMS systems. I am not a web developer. In the 90's I did html in hotdog pro when I was in highschool... but I guess that just makes me less cool to you now.

So every so often I wish there was just a magic place that I can put up a binary for something like Bluebox, and my website is broken, or sloppy. I have changed this site so many times now, and every time I loose content.

Bleh... whatever.

I want to make some GPL apps and host them here.
I want to maybe write some for money apps and stuff them here.

Lets see how long this CMS lives before it is spammed to death like all the rest I have ever used...
